CipherLens Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Short version: I built CipherLens to fix my own YouTube annoyances, not to learn anything about yours. It doesn't collect data because there's nothing I want to know.

What gets collected

Nothing. Not your watch history, not your searches, not analytics, not crash reports, not even a count of how many people installed it. There is no server for any of that to go to.

Where your settings live

When you pick your grid size or flip a toggle, that choice is saved in Chrome's own extension storage on your machine. If you're signed into Chrome, your browser may sync those settings to your other computers the same way it syncs your bookmarks. That's between you and Google, and I'm not part of it.

Network requests

The extension makes zero. Everything it needs ships in the package you installed. No external scripts, no fonts fetched from anywhere, no "phoning home."

Why it asks for the permissions it asks for

If this ever changes

It won't without a good reason, but if it does, the new version will be right here at this URL with a new date at the top. No silent edits.
